Agent commissions? Will they be lowered next?

For those that voted "paid per sale with no renewals," this business wouldn't even be worth it to be in. The renewals are the ONLY thing that makes it worthwhile. You'd literally have almost no agents left. $400-$600 one time for life? Excuse me for a second............. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Okay, I'm back. Yea, good luck surviving on those peanuts. You'd have to write at least 300 NEW people every single year. New agents would have no way to climb up at all. It's not even remotely feasible.
You do realize people sell cars now and make no renewals right? Also captive agents sell Medicare and make zero renewals.

All they have to do is make a salaried sales manager job that can over see sales and people would work for $400 to $600 per sale with no renewals. Wouldn't be ideal for us agents. But they would have no problem filling seats.

Yes, but the churning would be insane. Far worse than it is now. And that is something CMS is trying to address. Wouldn't make any sense to regulate renewals out of the formula.
We would quicker go to no commission than no renewals.

I don't see that as quite synonymous. Car sales people and captive agents are salaried though and what they get from the manufacturer or insurance company can be quota related or per sales. Making captive agents entirely commission based would be a big switch for them.

Car salesmen make insanely more money on every sale than Medicare agents do, and they have the entire population as customers. Medicare agents only have senior citizens. And captive medicare agents have a salary to go along with their commissions. It's apples and oranges.

That depends heavily on the dealership. I was once, years ago, offered a job at a Toyota dealership that paid a flat $200 per sale. Granted it was a high volume dealership, but that is a low commission

From what I've seen and heard, the average Toyota salesman makes about $900-$1,000 per sale. This probably varies by dealership, but that's not the most important part...... they have the extremely large benefit of having a high volume of buyers constantly walking through the doors. Plus, they have the entire population that is 16 years old and up as customers. We have 65 and up. And, sadly, as we all know, the average person dies around age 77. Plus, the average person churns and gets a new car rather frequently....roughly only every 7 or 8 years. We just don't have all the perks that dealers can rely on. That's why this no renewal thing is completely unfeasible and is a complete non-starter. There would be no point to this business without renewals.
