It would depend on the response rate in your area. On the high end, you are looking at 15-20 leads on average per 1000 dropped. To use GMDM's numbers of 3 sales per 10 leads, you are looking at 4-6 sales from your drop. $1,920-$4,320 AP. (40-60 average monthly premium).

Also, bear in mind that your drop could completely bomb. Perhaps sent to the wrong area, bad luck, poor choice in lead card, etc.

The question is, is that worth your time?

Thanks for your reply.I know I have to put in the time to learn. I tried 20 voice leads and sold two policy and one lapsed first month. I barley broke even. I struggled to even set appointments people putting me off mostly never really saying no. So I just dropped my first dm hopeing my results are a liitle better. I'm not giving up but this is a tough business to learn on your own. Thank God for this forum!!

If you are having trouble setting appts on the phone I would suggest trying to door knocking leads. There are some very successful agents who call and set appts, but if you are having trouble try door knocking.

Keep in mind a lead is nothing more than an interested person who has raised their hand. You have to get in door, then you have to uncover their need; no coverage, they want additional coverage, or they want to save money vs their current coverage.

Goal #1 is to get in the door.

Thanks for all the replys. Please offer any advice that may help someone like me just starting out part time. Just looking to learn and grow and do it the right way. Not go broke and quit.thanks again to all!
