Anyone Have Any Luck with Email Marketing?

Does anyone know a good bulk email service out there that is reasonably priced and doesn't expect you to have all opt-in email addresses? I have some good email lists. Some are opt-in, some are not but have an opt-out option when you send them.

Any feedback would be helpful

I've only found email marketing profitable when I've mailed to my clients and those who have visited my website.

I'll be following this thread to see what other ways have worked for other people.

What is reasonably priced? What service(s) do you want the bulk email service to provide? Maybe you can provide more detail about your needs.?.

Any reputable email vendor is not going to allow unsolicited spam to be sent thru their service. Even if you buy a list, once you start mailing you want be able to cover it up long. The # of bounces that come from a purchased list are well above avg as are the spam complaints.

Also, if you buy a list and send the email using your own mail server it won't take long for you to get blocked by the big email providers (yahoo, aol, hotmail, etc.).

Your best bet is grow your list yourself. Offer your website visitors a freebie and let them know they are signing up for your newsletter in the process.

Just a couple of thoughts.

To have a successful "Bulk" email campaign that is unsolicited I've found it needs to be highly targeted. You have to have more than just their name and use it to make it feel personal to the recipient. If you accomplish that, then bulk emailing is awesome!

Qmail marketing is a little tricky.. I have had good responses when using Norvax Broker Office, Which I have a way to get it for free. Contact me for more information. I send out emails with the subject line that reads "Insurance Premium Reduction Notice" . That gets prospects to open the email, click on the link and enter their information into my quote engine ans auto responder.

I get the best response with:

Thank you for applying for individual health insurance through Maryland Health Plans. Your checking account will be debited for $356.75 within five business days.

Lots of calls after that blast.
