Bankers Life: Any Opinions?

After trying this on my own I'm finally going with Bankers Life. My plan is to stay with them for a few months for their training and then going completely independent. They said that they give me leads which to me means low commission, but I'm only looking for face to face training without having to go through my friends and family. Anybody have opinions on these guys? If you say they suck can you at least give me some reasons?

I have never worked with them. I have replaced a few of their policies. So far every one I have come across had "errors". Such as smokers being marked as non smokers, Clients thinking they had $6,000 when they had $3,000 base and $3,000 accidental death, Signatures that did not match. Oh, and high premiums.

Geez.. I don't really wanna do that.. Is it possible to go meet up with these leads and then try to sell them a policy from a cheaper company? I'm only looking for that face to face training and the fact that they said I didn't have to do that project 200 list. Even Transamerica said they would ask me for names of people I knew.

well 1st off your not getting leads your getting a list of names to call, or old leads from years ago, the first thing they will want you to do is make a list of your top 100 people and then your manager will go with you and sell them some junk and take 75% of the comms run forest run..

Where do you live?? .

CT originally but moved to NY. I spoke to a guy from Transamerica and I liked them but Bankers Life is willing to get me leads from the internet, tv and other places so I figured train face to face like I want and then leave once I get good training. Transamerica, from they said, supposedly I would get a salary for three months and that they have good products. I'm not sure how they would get their leads. I don't want to do it via a list of people I know (which Bankers aid I wasn't going to do)

I would find an Indy agent in NY that you can go under. Ask FEX, Todd or 360 if they know anyone out there. You can take a 15 point cut in comps to get real training and just buy your own real leads.

I worked for them for two weeks. As a rookie your "leads" will be a list of "turning 65". Then Smile and dial for 30 minutes then rah rah then back to it. my 2 cents, look elsewhere.
