Bay Area music or comedy recommendations

Going to a 100th birthday party next Saturday in Oakland near the Airport. Not sure if I'm staying near there or checking out Jack London. Been a long time since going there. Any suggestions for music or comedy venues?

Sunday and maybe Monday I plan to go into the City. Same, and recommendations?

I understand it can get sketchy, that doesn't really bother me.

Or just a cool bar.

Thanks

As far as comedy, I goto Cobb's now and then. I'm seeing Bobby Lee there in a couple weeks. You've also got Bimbo's and the Punchline, neither of which I've been to.

Sunday and Monday are pretty slow nights, but you can check their calendars online.

Thinking I want to go spend a few days sometime and chill. Any recommendations for a music area?

Music? No, sorry.

If you're a cigar man, Telford's cigars up in Mill Valley has indoor and outdoor seating, and a very, very impressive selection.

You'd probably have to bring your own. I don't drink, but I've spent a lot of time in cigar lounges, and never have I seen alcohol frowned upon, especially if you are sharing.

Cobb's is great! Always a staple when I'm in town.
