Just something I have done to get my card out there more...

I have the local Agency of Aging phone referral number on the back of my card (reads Senior Services Referral Network). Since I am on a state line, I have a couple numbers listed depending on what side of the state line they live on.

What they do is if a senior is looking for a service (caregiver programs, transportation, meals on wheels, hospice, etc) they can call this number and they will put them in the right direction.

That way when I give them a card, tell then what the number is and give them a few extra to give to their friends.

Has it worked? I just got my cards today...so I hope so!

Re: Business Card Idea

That's a great idea.

Gives the client another reason to hold on to your business card.

I have a calendar printed on the back of mine.

I'm sure somebody will be along shortly to tell us why business cards are a waste of time.

Re: Business Card Idea

Could be something you may want to file with your MO / KS DOI's.

I know your ethical and using the back of your card to help people. Yet, it is also something that most DOI's would frown upon. Your competitor's may view this as an opportunity!

I think thats a great idea!

A thing that has always worked for me is to print my cards on magnets or to buy the card magnets at the local store. Before I leave I go to the fridge and put it on there for them.

No one will ever lose your card, and they always ask for another one to put on whatever else they got laying around.

I have been in client's homes years after they took a policy with me and looked at the refrigerator to see my card still on the door.

I've been doing this for at least the last ten years. Once something is on the refrigerator it seem to have "found a place for life". At least the life of the refrigerator.

Something else I do. I leave a manila folder with my business card stapled to the front every time I go on an appointment. I tell them that this is now their "insurance folder". I have been back to homes years later and they still have that folder and they have all their insurance information in it. They even have all of the birthday letters I have sent them.

It is a wasted effort to simply hand them just a business card and expect them to keep it where they can easily locate it unless you attach it to something that you know they will keep. They are not apt to throw their refrigerator out of get rid of "their insurance folder".

Check out Vistaprint.com. Their business card magnets are priced well.
