So i'm recently appointed with Loyal Am, Oxford, Stonebridge and still feeling out there underwriting. Here's the situation... 72 M NS, Diabetic taking oral meds, proscar and lisinopril. Will any of these companies take this?? I am going to call underwriting tomorrow but was wondering what anyone else thinks? Prospect is in Ca. Thanks

Stonebridge will for sure. I believe Oxford will and have no idea on the other.

I'll tell you what I did when I first started selling supps. I printed out the health questions for each company. I also printed their ht/wt charts, declinable Rx list and the applicable portions of their UW guide.

Then I called each companies UW department and asked them how the whole process would go from application to PHI to issue. I got everything I could thing of. How long they had been in business, what their app fee was, how they treated maintenance meds, when they drafted (at issue or effective date), their phone number etc.

Then I typed all that up and printed it out and stapled it with everything else.

Lastly, I saved the PDF pages for just the health questions for each carrier and spliced the PDFs together into one file. Now I have hard copies I can read through or a digital copy I can quickly search with CTRL+F.

Hope that helps!

If you are tech savvy enough you could also make a searchable PDF with their applications, RX decline list, Height/Weight chart. It is something I do and has been a big help with underwriting.
