I just got an email from Parker and Asses saying that they will not be representing Coventry any longer effective with the upcoming AEP.

I see this as a good thing. Since that's the only contract I have left with them, I sent an eamil asking is this means that I am finally released from that contract. They haven't responded to that question.

For your sake I hope that is the case. I hope they don't give you the run around and make up a reason to stay with them for Life. Good luck

I called Coventry about this and they didn't know anything about it. This must be hot off the presses.

Coventry did say that, if this is true, Parker and Asses would have to grant releases and we could contract with another FMO. They don't do direct contracts. They offered to reccomend a good FMO, I told them that I could find my own FMO.

I'll just be glad to be done with Parker and Asses.

If this is true, I am a Coventry FMO (and yes I will release you if you want)

PM: me for contracts

I'm sure it's true about Parker not offering Coventry for this selling season. The email was from Ken Parker to Ricky Whitman and then Whitman forwarded it the agents.

What I haven't gotten an answer to is whether they will release now or not. The email said they will not be offering Coventry MA. They may try to hang onto the PDP just to keep from releasing us. I don't know if that's possible, but, you can bet that Parker will try anything to keep from granting releases.

I just got back in and had 10 emails from Rickey Whitman. Not a single one was an answer to my question about a release.

I use to compete against those guys and I have never heard of them releasing anybody. Good luck and if they do get out quick. I haven't heard one good thing about those guys.

Here is my answer from Parker and Asses;

"We are not going to be representing Coventry Products this year. As you know we have been advancing commissions upon submission of the application on agenttrax.net, however we have only been paid on less that 50% of the applications submitted. That low percentage plus the charge-backs have mutually made it impossible for our relationship to continue. There were many applications that Coventry said were never faxed to them from the agent; that the agent was not the “agent of record”; that a plan change in their system negated commissions, etc. This also means that the investigation into the discrepancies into submitted business verses paid business, although a priority will be a potentially lengthy process. The staff will not be able to confirm the status of an agent’s accounts until a complete reconciliation between Coventry and Parker and Associates has been completed. If however you can get a signed agreement from an FMO that he will be willing to accept responsibility for past and future charge-backs and non-pays we may be able to affect a release in a shorter period of time."

What's the score now?

I would be suspicious of their excuses. I have always been paid in two weeks of Coventry submission since going direct. The former organization I worked under made similar excuses and I never saw my money... they just kept it. I think they are "Two peas in a pod"!:arghh:

The faster you get away from them, the better.

I'm more than suspicious of them. There is a lawsuit in the works against them for a reason. I've written 3 Coventry MA plans since lock-in started and one PDP. None within the last two months. What kind of debt could I have? They have already stolen my escrow.

My reply to that email was for them to send me a copy of anything they had that says that I can't be released.

Of course, they haven't and won't. I would like to have the PDP available for the few times I might need it, but, it's no big loss if I don't have it.

I can't imagine another FMO as bad as Parker.

I keep hearing about this lawsuit against Parker and Asses. A lawsuit could take a long time. I hear they are advertising like crazy for new agents on all the Job Boards. Why can't every agent who has been screwed over by PARKER AND ASSES advertise for agents and when they call, tell them to go with anyone but Parker?
I wish I had known about this forum before I got hooked up with them. They and their NATIONAL Managers (GLORIA) have ZERO credibility and integrity.
FYI Parker is running back to final expense plans because it's everyone else's fault but theirs why they don't get paid and have to setup such large and never-to-be-seen-again escrow holdback accounts.

We have to get the word out to new agents about these slimeballs and keep everyone from checking into "THE HOTEL PARKER" for life!

There is definately a lawsuit in the works. I was to be deposed about a month ago and had to cancel my meeting due to other obligations. I am to reschedule. A friend did make the trip to Indy for his deposition. You are correct that it's going to be a long haul. I feel confident that we will all get our money, but, it's going to be years down the road.

I did get a deposit from them today. First time ever for them to pay me my renewals. It wasn't much and I'm sure I'm owed more than they paid, but, anything from them anymore is just gravy.
