Ex-Social Security Head Warns of 'System Collapse' as SSA Plans to Cut 7,000 Jobs

I think you may be believing something that is no longer true.

Re an older post somewhere, I am no longer optimistic about our situation.

Trump is fixing to totally isolate us from the rest of the world economically and militarily. And maybe to get us into a shooting war somewhere. We will be lucky if a coalition of Canada, Greenland, and Western Europe don't take us over.

80% of your experienced and trained bad dog bud's will go down in a first attack, and then we will be totally screwed.

This is not Teddy or Franklin Roosevelt's era.

Yeah, we disagree.
Are we closer to a ground War today than 6 months ago?
I believe No. Six months ago, Russia was pretty confident in Biden's position, and nothing has changed since then except the body count. Putin was not concerned about a frail old man. Putin is a strong-man dictator. Oh, one major change: the President of the United States. I do not believe Putin is so sure what Trump will do.

Teddy and Franklin did not have the weapons and technology we have.

I have stated many times. I am anti-war, I believe in peace through strength, I think Trump is doing the correct thing in talking to all sides to try to end this. Do not confuse my anti-war stance with my unwillingness to fight. I consider myself an anti-war Hawk. Of course, we are probably talking about mutual destruction.

""80% of your experienced and trained bad dog bud's will go down in a first attack,""

I will say, I am trying hard not to respond in a combative way to the tone of this.

""and then we will be totally screwed."" Then fight for yours or get your as* in the kitchen and make sandwiches.

Welp, got to head out to work for a change.

Who thinks trump is smart by changing his mind every week on long term strategic policies like tariffs? i am 100% against the tariffs but jesus trump just stick to a plan. This also makes him and the US look weak.Another unforced error.-what mismanagement.

He's intentionally going to drive the market into the ground so he can justify (force Powell) cutting interest rates.

The problem is that tariffs can be inflationary so he has a real balancing act here.

Why would anyone fight for this putrid leader. If he starts a war he is the first American that should be shot not some of our best men and women.

What the actual eff are you talking about? Back before the 2016 election all we heard was how Trump was going to start WWIII. He's anti-war.

Now you crazies are at it again. I'm starting to believe you guys won't be happy unless we actually go to war.

Trump backtracks -AGAIN.Now he realizes that it is real dumbass idea to just fire people going down a list of most recently employed.Maybe it's it's smarter to keep to good workers and gid rid of poor performers. How could this administration be so inept

Late this afternoon Musk just got reigned in. He was told he can't fire anyone, the heads of each of the agencies are the only ones who can do that. Apparently some emails are going out to try to get the fired people to return to work.

True... the news report said emails but I'd guess they are going to have to resort to snail mail, text messages or phone calls.

Musk just got reigned in.

Maybe, maybe not.

Musk is not an employee of the federal government . . . he is a non-paid consultant "hired" by Trump.

His team are government employees of DOGE, the repurposed, renamed DSDS created in 2014 by EO courtesy of Obama.

He never had the authority to fire anyone and his emails were designed to encourage bureaucrats to return to work IN THE OFFICE or voluntarily quit.

Both accomplished what they were intended to do.

Some employees are being RIFFED via notices from newly appointed cabinet members.

Musk helped spark the creation of DOGE, a cost-cutting initiative signed into action by President Donald Trump. However, as previously reported by Newsweek, Musk is not receiving a salary for his role, according to White House filings. Musk has been classified as a "special government employee," a designation that allows individuals to work for the government on a temporary basis.

White House documents reviewed by Newsweek confirm that Musk "has no actual or formal authority to make government decisions himself" and is not the administrator of DOGE. His involvement is unpaid, meaning he does not receive federal compensation for his advisory work.
