Hi ya'll. I love to read what everyone's got to say in this forum. Some know what they're talking about, others don't. That's ok. It's a community for all of us. I've been buzzing around the site for months, usually to read the latest tear on Mega, Nase, and the 13 other aliases. Replacing them is a walk in the park!
I'm a broker in SW Florida, contracted with the usual players: GR, Assurant, Aetna, Humana, and others. It's tough here in FL, as the work ethic of most generally sucks. A 6pk and a doobie @ the beach is favored over hard work. I write a boatload of Ind, a lot of Term Life and an annuity here and there. I started my career w/Mid-West Nat'l. Became #1 in the office in 4 months. Great eh? Not so great when you can't sleep at night. Moved everyone to Assurant and never looked back. That was eons ago, thought the greedy bastard boat would have sank by now. Maybe Blackstone will dump them soon. Bad media is no fan of Private Equity, then again, the market is so jacked they're not even a blip on the radar.
This business has been very good to me, however it's not for everyone. My 2cents is this: work hard, be agressive(but not a pest), follow up hardcore. Don't pay to join associations run out of a condo. The word loyalty will have new meaning to you after a while. If you are well versed -you are blessed! I look forward to becoming a voice of the community.
