Hello all! I just recently passed my Life & Health Exams in my state, TN and got my license. My idea for the "end goal"" is to run my own independent agency, but I'm absolutely new to the industry and really saw my license as a ticket to learn more and get started.

I think I'd like to start in Final Expense but am unsure of specifics much beyond that.

Look forward to finding the good discussions in the search bar. What are some good topics/terms to search for to get "caught up"?

Several months ago another person was in your same situation. I recall that the advice then was pretty much to spend some time working captive for a company.

That would be my advice for any new licensed person. You took your schoolwork and passed but you need some time working under someone who can teach you the ropes.
I've seen hundreds come and go in this business. It's best to have someone to guide you for awhile.

Probably a good time to veer toward U65. I think there's opportunity there. Final Expense might be a good fit, I've never sold it. You should def ask around as there's options there.

Stay TF away from Medicare.

Starting in Final Expense sounds like a solid plan, especially since it's a good way to build connections and gain experience. For search terms, try looking up things like "lead generation," "sales strategies," and "prospecting" for Final Expense. Also, "building client relationships" can bring up some helpful tips.
