House Republicans unveil Medicaid cuts including work requirement, provider tax freeze

I have never understood why this gets so much pushback - https://fairtax.org/

It makes too much sense. I'm sure one of the biggest opponents of it would be CPA's. No need for their services as it relates to income tax filing. The IRS staffing could be greatly reduced. And politicians could no longer "advocate" for certain groups. They'd lose some power and we can't have that.

What loopholes would I lose?

Personally, I never like the term loopholes. It infers something nefarious.

Fairtax would eliminate most, if not all, tax breaks such as interest deductions, charitable giving, depreciation, amortization . . .

The income tax is eliminated and replaced with a consumption tax.

The more you consume, the more you pay in taxes, and certainly "wealthy" consume more goods and services than most of the rest of us. The result is, those who claim the rich don't pay their fair share would lose the ability to flaunt that crutch.

Hell, the ones who claim the rich don't pay their fare share can't even define "rich" or what "fair share" is.
