Can an independent agent get appointed to sell Humana Medicare plans.... or do you have to go through a IMO??

If you can go independent, what are the commissions like??

I am licensed to sell individual and group health with Humana but i am not licensed to sell Medicare sup and MA plans.

I think $375 is the highest you can get. Well at least thats what I get paid.

Not quite sure if you can go alone now. I hooked up with JSA in Green Bay, Wi. a few years ago. Had to go to a Humana training that took most of the day. Then went through a background check, that my buddy failed for a disorderly conduct ticket he got 3-4 years before for standing near a couple of guys fighting in the street after bar time. Wrong place wrong time. They let him get certified the next year. It pays $350 an app. Not sure about renewals. $50-75-100?? I haven't had too many people stay more than a year. They buy it because a friend raves about it, but once they trust me and I call them in fall with a better plan, they usually switch. I do sell the crap out of their PDP. Probably 75% of my clients are on the Humana Enhanced plan.

I only sell Humana if ABSOLUTELY necessary. I have heard that they will contact your pdp clients and sign them up direct for mapd. Any company that thinks enough of their agents to do that can find someone else to sell them.

The real question is, "Will Humana put you in one of their required before you sell their Medicare Product classes anytime before September of this year?"

Make sure you know the answer to that before you do all the work to get appointed. If you can't get in the class, you're wasting your time.
