That is how it works in FL. You need a license either way, but if you register as an "consultant", you can't sell policies or get commission. You can only give advice (for a fee).I could be wrong, but I think there are some regulatory boundaries on that.
In some states I can get licensed as a "consultant" and charge a fee, or I can get an agent license. But I don't believe I can have both.
