I have a prospect desperate for an SEP, He just signed up part B, Late enroll, no loss of group
and he is 66

I believe there is no EP for that right?

Unless I find an emergency SEP, or he has some type of extra help he is SOL correct?

Just checking in case I missed something

Any SEP in NY available?

Why do you need an SEP? Its based on the Part A and B dates which is going to be 3/1.

You lost me? Maybe I didn't understand the original post.
I think Vic is saying the guy has A but is new to B. At least that's the way I read it.

If I read it right, there's no SEP needed. The part B date always trumps the part A date. (I love doing that)

And, if I read it right, the guy can buy an MAPD or a Supp (w/no health questions).

Probably going to be a LEP though.

Because he is 66, he did not just retire, so its not loss of group or employer coverage

He signed up late part B

I had issue with this in the last year or so, was declined, but luckily with that one there was extra help SEP

This one does not have that

You know I am looking at app now, I know the last time I got declined I put in new to Medicare

But I am looking at the Aetna App and there is 2 new to Medicare
the 2nd one only last 2 months,

I am wondering if I put that one in it will work

Rather then the 1st one that has a 7 month window

These are so rare don't do them too often, I just know I had an issue with one in the last year

SEP Part B GEP for either mapd or pdp

Begins 01/01 Ends 05/31 The SEP begins when the individual submits their Part B application and continues for the first 2 months of Part B enrollment.

I work the small business market and see them all the time. Always someone who takes A and defers SS. They are then billed quarterly for their B and they don't pay and get cut off. Then I have to help them get B back.

The above is not necessarily your situation but doing enough of them has taught me all the little part B tricks.

The decline you got last year was probably because your client was not new to Medicare. Same here. He's not new to Medicare but he's new to B.

I'm also assuming you're doing an MAPD. If so, just put OEP.

cant do OEP though he does not already have a MA plan

But I see the EPs, I don't know why I did not see them before

Seems like there are different ones I never seen before
One I believe I will use is I already have part a and recently signed up for part B

There is one that specifically mention late GEP but it does say I am currently paying a premium for part A on that one so I guess not that one
