I am about to make the jump and become an insurance agent. right now I am leaning towards life with some financial services. However, I have not ruled out P&C. I am going to look into Health, but haven't started yet.

Due to my lack of sales experience, being a capative agent might be the best way to go. Can someone pleasee give me their honest feedback (good and bad) on the following companies:

New York Life
Farmers
Allstate
Nationwide
Western Southern

Of the bunch you mentioned, I would rule out Western Southern. Just my opinion. If you are willing to get a Series 6 and 63, check out MetLife.

My recommendation would be go independent. Stay away from Allstate per my previous experience. Good luck.
