I hope someone here can provide some advice. I have a client couple, 60 M, 56 F, quoted them against BCBS for HSA HDHP.
Assurant seemed to be the best fit, but they excluded a host of acid reflux potential problems for 99 years, including Hiatal hernia on the wife. She did have gall bladder surgery 5 years ago, and only started taking Nexium 1 year ago, with no complications or other health issues. The rate up was only 16%, but with those exclusions, and only saving around $3000 a year, the potential downside isn't worth the risk to them.
Out of Aetna, United Healthcare, American National, or anyone else you can recommend, has anyone run across a company that will only exclude for 12 months, and perhaps not exclude for the hiatal hernia?
