Policy Delivery

Not only that, but when you go over the policy it's a great idea to point out that's it's immediate coverage (show it on the non-fort page). In other words prepare the client for the next lying yahoo agent that's going lie anyway he can to steal the business.
 
Always deliver the policy in person if required by the insurer. If the policy is not in force, and you mail it when the person is in the hospital or has had a change in health, you are setting yourself up for an E&O claim.
 
New agent here ... Just curious ... Do you personally deliver every policy?

I deliver most of mine. I don't know about cementing the sale but some say it does.

I like to show them the coverage and go over the draft day again. I sell mostly whole life so I show them the cash value page and that the zeros the first 2 years are the cash value and not that they don't have coverage the first 2 years.

I had to learn to do that because some Bankers agents were showing people the cash value being zero to lie and say the policy wasn't in effect for 2 years.

I mainly deliver because that's when I get many of my referrals.

But I also handle banking changes and beneficiary changes, etc. for my clients. It's very rare for any of my clients to call the company. I believe referrals are earned. And they are earned by service. Delivering the policy is just the beginning of that service.
 
I like including a conversation summary with the policy to remind them (years later) why they bought this particular policy from me along with what we said this policy will do for them.
