Ok....i talked to a few people this issue.

What's the deal the tri-mesters?

I've been told that if someone is pregnant...they can get insurance up until the end of the 2nd trimester?

Is this correct?

Well, up to the 3rd trimester, she's just "a little bit pregnant"

Gosh, why do you think we have all these arguments about LATE STAGE ABORTIONS???

Hey guys....i appreciate the humor and all...but please...don't highjack my thread....i am really try to get an answer to this question.

Up to what point in the pregnancy can a woman get health insurance?

thank you...

Thanks guys....you maybe right.

Sounds like a group plan is the only way for this guy to go....

Once a woman knows she's pregnant she cannot be covered. Carriers like Aetna in MD will ask when they had their last cycle since they offer maternity with no waiting period.

How does a group help him if you are trying to cover the childbirth? He is not married and there is no court order establishing parental rights. Suppose he gets into a group plan (seems kind of late in the game for this type of thing). What happens next? The insurance company is supposed to cover the birth of a baby by a woman he knows? Most states do not even require the name of the father on the birth certificate anymore.

I don't know. I dont do health, so I am asking. Don't you have to establish some kind of legal, paternity, financial relationship to put the meaning of "dependant" back into "dependant" somehow?
