Pregnant person - question

Hi, I am working with a client who is pregnant. It's her and her husband right now. The marketplace asks how many dependents you will claim in 2025. At first I answered that they would claim one, but then it won't let me list an unborn child.

Then I found on the marketplace website it says don't include unborn children.

Just want to check and make sure i'm doing this right.. There was a question about pregnancy and I did say that she was but I don't think that helped their subsidy eligibility at all.

You add the baby once born ....then there is 1 dependent and things change......

Don't mark Pregnant on the app. It will try to kick her to Medicaid.

you're right, had to redo it. lol I do like 90% medicare so I feel really rusty every time I do the marketplace for the first couple times during this time of year.

So, you lie on the application? I am not following how you can not answer the question accurately if it is asked
Correct. And if you call the marketplace to ask what to do, they will tell you the same thing. Usually, you know whether or not the person will be eligible for Medicaid or not. If you answer "truthfully" you are wasting a lot of everyone's time to just go back and do the same thing again.

Pregnancy also has no affect on anything related to subsidies or eligibility so answering that question doesn't matter.
