I had a client call today to update her income, based on receiving her W2 and filing taxes.
She made right at $21000 last year, so was on the borderline for Medicaid or an ACA plan. We used that figure during open enrollment and selected a plan. Her income is now in the neighborhood of $21500. I updated her application but it is trying to push her to Medicaid now. However, she is over the stated income limit. She also said her doctor mentioned two weeks back that it looked like she had "been given Medicaid recently".
Two questions:
1. Did the up the Medicaid limits recently? As in since the beginning of this year?
2. Is NC just going and putting anyone on Medicaid who is close (but above) the states income threshold!?!
Thanks for the input and help!
