Saturday Appointments

Do any agents currently working the final expense market run appointments on the weekend (Saturday, Sunday or both)? Thanks.

I don't work FE but do sell Med Supps. I have run appointments on Saturday, Sunday, I even had an appointment on New Years Day at 10:30am.

When I was first getting started in this business I would go anywhere, any time a prospect wanted to sign an app and give me a check.

Purchasing insurance for a lot of people, seniors especially, can be an emotional decision. Not to make the purchase but to finally agree to talk to an agent about it.

I have been on the phone at 4pm talking to a prospect. They said the next day nor the day after were "good for them". I would always ask if "now" would be a good time. A lot of times they say yes.

I have gotten in the car at 4pm to drive an hour or more to where they are to write the app. I pretty much sell it over the phone so I already know that I'm going to make a sale when I get there. I really don't go on appointments unless it is a "done deal".

Oh, sorry. What was your question?

Give the guy a break. He asked a legitimate question. We can bust his ass after he has been here a while. For now let him think that we are nice "guys". We will "break him in" later. :D

Have you ever worked a Sat or Sun when you were first starting out? I still do from time to time if that is when they want to see me.

It's about providing excellent service and building relationships and trust. I let my clients know that they can call me any time of the day or night seven days a week, fifty-two weeks a year. And, some of them do.

If a prospect needs help and would like to talk to me about their problem or needs then I will try to accommodate them at their convenience.

When I started (and if I've had a bad month I still do...), I would work anytime I could schedule an appointment... My philosophy is you're not over the hump in this business until you've got 6 months + of living expenses in the bank (or lately, under the mattress might be safer...)

On a side note... I do indy health, but I like to take internet leads on Saturdays and Sundays... there is literally no competition from other agents!

3 to 6 months of living expenses use to be good. Things have changed and I have heard forgot where that you should try to get at least 2 years of living expenses in the bank.

6 months in Federal Reserve Notes and 18 months in gold is a good idea... along with some water and shotguns...
