Does Security National Life deem maintenance and preventative drugs, currently being taken, as "treatment" for heart, stroke and circulatory conditions if the medical event occurred over 2 years?

Will SNL issue preferred coverage for an applicant who had a pacemaker implanted over 2 years ago?

Does SNL deem the preventative drug Tamoxifen as "treatment" for cancer if the applicant has been ruled cancer free for over 2 years?

I actually just went through this yesterday, fairly similar, I called the underwriting dept and after they asked several questions to me and to the applicant, was told he would be approved preferred. His pacemaker was implanted in 2009.

In the Field Underwriting Guide, it states "if qualifying event was more than 2 years ago and they are on the maintenance medication with no other ailments we will issue a first day coverage plan at the preferred rate." It goes on to mention that if there are other factors at play such as insulin diabetic then not preferred.

He was on a maintenance med, eliquis. that was just changed from plavix a couple months ago, that's why I wasnt sure.

Not sure I can answer your question on the Tamoxifen.

Good Luck

They are in process of changing how they define such. Best to talk to Tommy Overton while they are still sorting this out.

They are also removing the previously declined question from their apps. Don't know when new apps will be out. Another question for TO.

I would think agentguy5 could answer this since he is their current leading producer.

1. Yes, depending on the medication. See attached form

2. Yes

3. They will accept this situation/medication as preventative and approve as Graded and not preferred
