Hi. I did a search and maybe I didn't play with key words enough but I'm wondering what tool or tools do you use to prospect on the phone besides your cell or land line?

My cordless dies on me too fast; I find I have to keep charging my cell phone at least 3 to 4 X a day and stay glued near the wall and it's annoying... I walk a lot when I talk; type, do various things, file you know cook, laundry, whatever.. multi-tasker here. I cannot stand stay stationary so I'm seeking a new phone that has a hard long term battery life and can work well with me wherever I go in this house or outside if needs be that won't crumble on me you know ... the static and have clarity if possible. Would also be neat if speaker phone can come with such a device b/c those headsets can be very tiring to the ear and make it hurt.

I have heard the Platronics set is good. I am posting 2 links below.

Wondering what you all use if you use anything high tech and what good experiences you have had and what to avoid, if to avoid? Can you please recommend a good phone system?

I would considerably appreciate your input.

Thank you very much in advance for your posts!

Plantronics )) Home & Small Office )) Home Telephone and Headset Systems )) CT12 2.4GHz Cordless Headset Telephone

Plantronics )) Home & Small Office )) Home Telephone and Headset Systems )) Calisto Pro Series

The link to the first headset you did is a great headset system. I used it for quite some time. Just be forewarned, it will take out your wireless internet when you're on the phone. Beyond that minor issue, it's actually a great headset to use for a long day of calling.

The other one is newer, bluetooth, etc. Never tried it, though I have found virtually every bluetooth headset hurts my ear from some almost unaudible high pitch whine they emit. It's okay for a short time, but I'll pass on a long day of using them.

I currently use Plantronics )) Home & Small Office )) Headset Systems )) CS55H Home Editionâ"¢ Wireless Headset System but the one with the handset lifter. One of the best headsets I've found. Range is excellent. The cons are you can't dial from the headset and there is no caller id if your not at the phone. Both of these I don't care about to much, since my phone sits right beside me, and I just use the headset to talk on. I can walk the hallways and still answer my phone.

I have wireless in my house and we have various p.c.s so no way to get around that is there using the platronics head set system?

A friend suggested purchasing something with DECT 6.0 that should block and avoid the wireless... just a cheapy phone system and buy a different head set so the wireless won't get wiped...

What do you think if you happen to know?

Also, thank you everyone who replied.

DJS, thanks for the detail; just a quick replay of what you said -

1. the unit has caller id, but not the head piece?

and

2. does it have speaker phone?

Tx - any problems with yours?
which do you have?

Thank you very much again! Tx. Chumps too.

The link I provided above does not interfere with wireless systems. I've only had that problem with the little handset/headset combo thingy that you posted first. Of course, DECT 6.0 was designed not to interfere with wireless systems.

The system I use is only a wireless headset. No caller id, no speaker phone, but then, it's a headset. It's something I use for 4 hours at a time, conference calls, everything. I've never needed to use a speaker phone with it. Since you can't see it, there is no caller id. I use my phone for that.

All depends what problems you really want to solve. There probably isn't a perfect solution for all situations.

I've been using the CT12 for about 2 years and highly recommend the phone. I haven't used a standard phone in a long time and don't plan on going back. The wireless headset from the plantronics looks like a nice phone, but just like Dan said, there are a few perks that are not found (caller id, speaker phone, etc.)

Dan, thank you for the input.

Salpro - what is C12 and who makes this?

Thank you again!

Plantronics is the best IMHO and their CT12 model has done well. I'd like to see some few features in the future, but I'm content with their phone. They have a great warranty and even sent me a new headset when mine crapped out on me through no fault of my own.

Just make sure you don't use that phone for an extended amount of time with VOIP as you will become quickly annoyed with the loss of signal and other issues vs. using a traditional land line.
