Selling BOB in TN

Fact: Carriers aren't required to pay commission but are capped on how much they can pay.

Also a fact: The overwhelming majority of carriers pay commission and renewals despite not being required to do so.

Also a fact: Carriers have increased their spending on brokers exponentially more than they have on internal sales channels.

There is WAAAAAAAY more evidence that supports carriers' need for agents versus the idea that they are trying to eliminate us.
Our only real problem will come when carriers no longer want the business. We're not there yet. We are there with a few select plans where the carriers are losing $ or fearful of losing money.

The carriers need to design profitable plans. Which is likely easier said than done. But once they have them designed, they'll pay us all day, every day, to sell.

What u are forgetting is that this is a govt program.

Haven't forgotten anything. How is that relevant? Had the government banned commissions? Nope.

How many Federal workers lost jobs?

What does this have to do with anything?!?

It was a good run. Now its time to seal the hatch and make the most by preserving business. I heard someone say they had to flip 180 people last year. Imagine whats coming!

What he didn't say was that he wasn't paid for doing so. You've said a lot but have yet to present a cogent argument. Just a bunch of random unrelated statements.

This is why plans are going non-commissionable. They were priced wrong, and since the plans can't be altered or termed until 2026, the only recourse they have is to discourage us from selling them. In P&C, where policies renew throughout the year, companies have more options.

EXACTLY...

I am honestly surprised how wrong UHC was with their plans. I can't help but think that the previous administration put a lot of pressure on the plans not to do what made business sense during an election year.

Imagine the outcry if most plans had introduced coinsurance for T3's and up instead of a copay during last year's AEP.

This is just beginning to unfold. Wait until we see how much kickback dollars are going to be returned.

and so were commissions. ACA makes $40.00 comp. Its coming sooner than you think.

Good Luck.

Not $40 for the year, it's $40 per month which is more than MAPD renewal. Imagine having 1,000 ACA clients and making $40k per month and only having to bust your a$$ for two months to maintain it.

grok ai disagrees. I copies and pasted on of don's messages with one of the new guy's messages, this is what grok said:

"

Conclusion

Based on the analysis, it is highly likely that the same person wrote both texts. The shared informal tone, industry-specific jargon, opinionated voice, and minimal punctuation strongly point to a single author, likely a professional in the insurance or Medicare field commenting in a casual online context. The differences in sentence structure and specific quirks are minor and could reflect situational or platform-specific variations.

If you have more samples or want a deeper comparison (e.g., with specific metrics or additional context), let me know!"
You don't need grok to see if they're both Don.

Just challenge both to a ride a long and see who shows up.
