Looking for stand alone dental insurance plans. My client says they are willing to pay for a year since they have an MAPD that doesn't cover implants and dental coverage on MAPD's isn't counted as prior dental coverage, as I understand.
Some MAPD's are covering implants now, but I suspect cuts will occur for 2026.

NCD is probably the best for implants. They'll pay up to $3,000 a year.

Waiting period for significant $ amt of coverage is probably not what client is looking for.

Basically, I suspect OP has bad news for client expecting $$$ for implants in year one of any coverage.

When one can get to the point of receiving $3K per year for implants, how many teeth would that cover? I have no knowledge of what an implant costs.

It looks like NCD uses a sliding scale percentage reimbursement vs waiting period

They also offer an Elite plan outlined here

The need to update their website and pull this Nationwide brochure . .

There are probably discount plans that will cover implants . . . no waiting period . . . but you MUST use a par provider.

If the insurance/discount plans won't work for your client, Google "affordable dental implants" for more information.

Dental implants typically cost $3,000 to $6,000 per tooth . . . and "one day" implants don't exist. A lady I know had to wait 3 months (or maybe 6) between the extraction and implant.

Multiple implants often come at a discount. Four implants can run $10,000 - $12,000 for the total.

Financing is available . . .

They are definitely using not quite accurate advertising.

The only circumstances under which a one day implant exists is the tooth is already gone and the bone has healed, there is no bone loss (if there is you need bone graphs and they take time to heal and attach), and no infection. Then they are only counting putting the screw(s) in and a temporary tooth/crown/bridge is attached to the screw(s). Then they are counting that as one day implants even though they aren't done yet as the bone has to heal, etc. before the permanent "fixture" is attached.

My "same day" implant remark was reflecting how consumers may feel. And they are also surprised at the cost.

I don't recall seeing any implants advertised as "same day" but they may be out there.

The consumer confusion may come from billboards advertising "same day" dentures for $1200 - $2,000 for a full set (upper and lower).

The closest I have come to a same day is a crown. The old tooth impression mold was made . . . then the tooth is prepared for the crown and a temp crown was installed. A follow up appointment removed the temp and replaced it with the permanent.

I found this search result interesting . . .

The cost of a same-day dental crown in Atlanta, GA can range from $800 to $2,500 per tooth, depending on the materials and complexity of the procedure. Average prices, without insurance, are around $1,429

Google AI

My last round trip crown (2 appointments) was $1400 cash price.

Maybe 1 tooth per year.
