The Social Security Administration is offering financial incentives ranging from $15,000 to $25,000 to employees who choose to voluntarily resign from the federal agency, ahead of what they warn will be "significant workforce reductions."

A message sent out to employees Thursday stated that the agency will soon implement restructuring that includes workforce cuts and "massive reorganizations."

The SSA said that wholesale "abolishment of organizations and positions" could happen, as well as reassignments and staff cuts.

President Edolf will be begging for them to come back to work in a couple weeks.

You do realize this was the case long before Trump took office. The hiring standards were changed over a decade ago and we weren't getting the "top notch" people for the jobs. There's even an ongoing lawsuit about it. you should do a little research.

So if that was the case why is Duffy reducing the training required to become an ATC?

Why is he shaving four months off training if standards are "so low"?

You are clueless... I'm both amazed and amused.

Obviously you have never heard of corporations firing and the rehiring to insure its work force is populated by top employees.

Get "people " out of your head and think more on "processes ", you'll sleep better at night.

Yes. I am clueless! Meanwhile waits at social security are longer than ever but we want to cut half the workforce. Ok buddy.

Stay with me here, if you have a staff full of people who have a near zero chance of being fired (at least that's the way it has been for a while), the chances are they don't care if they are productive or not. That's why you get such crap service at many government agencies.

I recall speaking to someone who worked at GM. Through their union contract, they had limitations on the amount of weight they had to lift. She bragged about telling her boss she wouldn't pick up the box because it was 1 pound over the limit. Again, when you know you can't be fired, you will do the minimum required. That's most government agencies.

Case in point, people are flipping out over having to respond to an email with 5 points of what was accomplished in the past week. I saw a video of a girl likening it to living in North Korea. The real corporate world doesn't work that way.

Jack Welch (former CEO of GE) used to get rid of the bottom 10% of productivity each year. How dare he, right?

Clinton terminated 377,000 federal employees during his time in office. I don't recall seeing liberals crying about it then.

You lot love your strawman arguments.

Those cuts were done with congressional approval and took years to research and implement.

It wasn't Georgie Soros getting rid of folks for the *** if it like President Musk is doing.

I see. So the total number of federal employees in 1990 was 3.4 million. In 1991, it was 3.1 million. So a 300,000 reduction in 1 year is the same as "took years to research and implement". Ok.

What about the other stuff I said? Wanna take a stab at any of that?

Edited to add, the above employment reduction was pre-Clinton and shows we've been down this road before without hysterics.

Not really - your anecdotal stories are pointless.

Let's see how you all react when Elon emails us asking us to justify our commissions
