I didn't expect it until aep but it's here . To go non commission for the rest of yr 1/2 way through the yr shows how serious this is .You pretty much can guarantee most of these plans will be non renewed . But we have no idea what the 2026 plans are . Will benefits be cut huge ? Will most plans have a $615 deductible and 25% copay tier 3 ? What about the extra $25 bil Trump gave to carriers for 2026 ? Is that going to their bottom line for profit ? The earthquake Scenerio is very easy to see . United will want 1 million plus unprofitable people cut just like Aetna and Humana last yr . What if Aetna, Humana and anthem want to purge members ? Who will take these overflow of people ? Small carriers who still want to grow like devoted will be swamped with members and will commission suppress fast during aep . There's a good chance you'll have members you can't place . Also it's possible some carriers leave the mkt for 2026 . What if pdp's with no govt help are $80-$100 coupled with 20% med sup increases ? Some of those people will be coming to mapd but they might have no plans . I keep reading agents say will I don't have much United or there's not many termed plans in my area . The spillover effect and changes in all plans for 2026 will effect all of us . This aep truly will be one to 100% spend on present clients

I'd say your analysis is pretty good. One thing to consider is why are they suppressing in these specific areas? Each hospital and doctor network is able to negotiate prices with each carrier. Are some hospital networks bleeding advantage in these areas?

I think if you analyzed all the data you'd find one thing in common . In their earnings report United said these exact words " It looks like we took on a lot of Sick people that other carriers termed" .I'm willing to bet many of these termed plans are heavily skewed towards areas and states Aetna and Humana termed plans heavy . When you take on a large # of new people your taking big risk as you don't know their health history .

UHC has also just slipped in a lengthy "contract addendum" that makes hundreds (thousands?) of specific MA/MAPD contracts suddenly NON-COMMISSIONABLE going forward, including all AARP branded product in NC and other states.
So let's see who to write for MA: fk Wellcare. fk Cigna. fk Aetna. fk Humana. fk United. Incremental now, but shows who we can't trust, and soon they will all have stolen our books -- and our reason to put up with their massive heap of annual bull$pit going forward.
