Trump’s DOJ Takes Surprising Stance on Agent and Broker Payments in MA

More food for fodder Arielle Kane

Speaking of intelligence level. I wanted to poke my eyes out listening to this young lady----going on and on about how medicare and medicaid is already "pretty good" but omg how dare they fire me.....hmmmm, well if it's already good, why do they need a whole dept to pay you to make it soooo muchhh better. God Help Us.

It's just an exaggeration. It's not absolute statistics. The point is, a lot of seniors are not very good at navigating technology, but the most important part of our job is the knowledge we have. That part, most people are absolutely clueless about, to no fault of their own.
The 30% who sign up on their own is government stats. The mental decline numbers from are from multiple research studies.

That technology/computers have been in the workplace since the mid 1980's and heavily in them since the early 1990's means that most seniors who were working is many jobs have spent 25-30 years dealing with computers. While stereotypes of seniors is generally that they are old fogies who are cognitively impaired and dumb as a post who can't even tie their shoes let alone sign into or use email is false. The parents of the boomers and the generation between the boomers and their parents have had less exposure and less requirements to use computers in the work place than the boomers, the boomers have plenty of exposure to computers, smart phones, tablets, etc.

SOME seniors have problems and cognitive decline which affects their ability to use what they used to know how to do. SOME seniors have never or rarely used technology. 90% of seniors aged 65-74 use the internet and 65% of them go online daily. 76% of seniors have smart phones. Most of the research I have just looked at indicate that seniors older than 75 have somewhat more problems than younger seniors using technology but only by about 10 percentage points. The stereotypes younger people have of older people are wrong in this aspect.

Your referral network may collect more cognitively impaired adults or dual eligible adults who can't afford technology and so use it less (and so are less competent) and so you generalize your clients to all seniors. Some of the really knowledgeable agents on here are seniors who are incredibly tech savvy. Stereotypes doesn't do any one any good. Agism in the USA is rampant. That is unfortunate. There are a number of very competent 65+ people in the USA. For example 47.8% of congress is 65+ (EDIT - my congress comment was meaning competent with technology and not senile or close to it - although likely most could argue that a subset are cognitively impaired to some degree - but that is true of the general population too).

Trying to figure out what POTUS (or his minions) is going to do is an exercise in futility.

LAST NIGHT: POTUS said Medicaid cuts are off the table.
TODAY: POTUS endorsed the House Budget which is cutting $1 Trillion from Medicaid.
He checked with Fox and they said it would help the show's ratings.

Yeah man, I was with him right up to the last sentence. Then my sundowners kicked in.
lol...I know what you mean but be careful with that term too. It's a big deal here in Northern NV.

As long as your sundowner syndrome permits this recall, just never say anything because everything is offensive to everyone.
