I am curious to know how he defines unaffordable.

Are premiums the only factor in determining affordability? If so, then that ignores the elephant in the room, which is the cost of CARE.

That seems like smurfing if you want to be honest about comparing the two offerings.

Here is a novel idea for revamping the MA product. How about making it a pure health insurance product and elinating the glitter?

If you want to be honest about the growth in MA plans you need to take into account not only the premium but the perceived value of addon trinkets like dental, vision, etc which are not included in traditional health insurance plans.

according to him "average senior annual income is $54,000, and the average couple spends roughly $12,000/year on OM" -- $184 on Part B + $200/mo on medigap + Part D premium x 2
