My first post. I really enjoy hearing everyones perspective on the different subjects. Because this is a primarily individual product audience & I've always been more of a group guy...I have a question. I become eligible for coverage on Jul 01. Humana dual option.
Option 1: NPOS $2k/$4k 100/70% copay plan.
Option 2: HSA $2500/$5000 100% aggregate deduct.
Since my cost is $10/month for the HSA, I figured I'd elect the HSA, put some money away and *put the wife and 2 kids on individual plans to save some $.
Problem: Wife has low thyroid. This is likely to get ridered out or excluded on an IM product correct?
Do any IM carriers in TX have embedded deductibles? Is it possible to write each of the family members on their own policy to avoid aggregating the deductibles?
Am I spinning my wheels?
Should I just put everyone on the group HSA and be done with it? $575/month for the fam.
Why is it easier for me to recommend options to my clients than make my own choice? I know...It's my money!
Any suggestions or at least answers to the IM product questions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Respectfully,
Speckled Horn
