I just ran Teton county in Wyoming, zip 83001 for two 64 yr olds making $22,000 a year. A whopping $2026/mo tax credit.
That's 24k a year, and more than their fricken income in the year.

Compare to AZ Maricopa county zip 85383, same couple moves south, making same income at 22k = $766/mo APTC

So, the ACA taxes are sent to D.C. and are redistributed in a haphazard fashion based on market conditions that D.C. can't control. This law alone, with the massive amount of money being thrown around, will redistribute wealth, and make or break state economies.

Insurance is flat out unaffordable in AZ now, and my FL clients are reaping the benefits of large APTC's. Glad I'm licensed and diversified in 2 states, otherwise, I don't see myself surviving on AZ alone.

Any other counties out there like Teton county?

Note to self, get non res license in WY.

Last week, I thought a colleague was kidding when he said that he just enrolled a family with a +$3,000 a month premium. Now I see that he was serious.

There are probably several counties like Teton county Wyoming in this country. The neat thing is that it takes no more effort to enroll people there than it does in Maricopa county Arizona.

That is an interesting idea but just looked at the On Exchange insurers and it is almost all Blue Cross, just one other regional carrier-my guess is that they have PMPM model for broker compensation.

There are only 22,000 people in Teton County, WY and most of them go to Medicine Men for health care.
