Who do you folks like for dental insurance?

I just said I only sell Manhattan. Better than Aetna
Ok, just checking for sure. You always have a good answer for me about an Aetna question, I just figured a few of them slipped in there too.

My wife gets mad at me when I do that to her.

I will just consider myself lucky I am not in the reach range of your pot stirrer to get a rap on the knuckles. :twitchy:

The post I made to you was not intended to relate to you selling dental products.

I made the post as consumer to consumer because the previous posts in the thread left me with the impression you were intending to buy an Ameritas product as a secondary personal dental coverage product.

My personal experience in evaluating and purchasing secondary and tertiary dental coverage suggests that has the possibility of not being a wise purchase.

As far as selling goes, I have an opinion about what you are doing but I am not the one making a living selling insurance products so I will leave that with the one post I already made (which is also experienced based seeing UHC payment for fillings, root canals and crowns and trying to get get payment amounts from UHC for a specific dentist if the dentist is not making a preservice cost request themselves).
My post was in response to the person who said we shouldn't tell anyone what their cost will be for a certain service. I think it was somarco but I don't feel like going back to read it at this point

I prefer self pay . . . makes it hard to recommend something I don't care for.
I recommend self-pay if they have no dental issues. I can't tell you how many of my seniors have come to me in need of major work who wish they had purchased a dental plan sooner. I generally tell them cash pay for cleanings and exams, but if your dentist starts talking about work you are going to need in the future, come see me and let's see what we can do.

There's one dental plan I recommend for seniors when the ask. And it only covers two cleanings and an x-ray per year up to $500. it also has a very small vision benefit. It's the Anthem Extras basic plan and it's $19 per month. $228 per year for two cleanings and x-ray is worth it. And if the dentist is in-network, they get the discounted rates for other services. They pay a whopping 10% commission on it.
You can retire on that! 🤣

In my opinion, you are doing your clients a disservice there. Major services have a 12 month waiting period on most plans.
