Should net receivers of tax dollars be allowed to vote in presidential elections?
Or should only net payers be allowed?

Some believe that net receivers of tax dollars have an incentive to vote for bigger government, and inflationary monetary policy that is not in the best interest of the country.

Other believe that it is a fundamental right for everyone to vote.

Clarify this question. Are you referring to recipients of Social Security and or Medicare?
It's open to interpretation.

However, the majority of the time I have heard this the conversation come up it was usually in the context of what most people traditionally consider "welfare" ~ Medicaid, food stamps, WIC, housing subsidies etc...
Some would even throw Medicare disability and social security disability in there as well.

If you support the idea, is there somewhere you would draw the line?

Additional thought:

There are some purists like an old radio host Neal Boortz, that would say anyone that receives any money from the government, including but not limited to those who collect social security, Medicare or even government contractors or people like myself that sell Medicare products would be included in this group of people that should not be allowed to vote. As even people like myself would have a vested interest in the government preserving and/or growing the Federal budget.

How about politicians who derive their income from government service. They certainly have a vested interest in big government and runaway spending. They should be prohibited from voting on anything.

Boortz is an id.i.ot. Everyone receives some benefit from the government.

There is a lot more to government functions than spending.

If you dont like pitching into the same pool to help our country grow...
then stop using the roads
stop using the internet
stop using your cell phone
stop driving a car
stop using fossil fuels
stop using the local park
stop walking on sidewalks
stop buying groceries
etc. etc. etc.

wtf...

lets exclude from voting every single american who has dedicated their life to serve this country and make it function. Just what our founding fathers would have wanted.

Dumb ass sh*t
