10 digit SSN?

I was writing a couple today. The male swore his SSN was xxxx-xx-xxxx. I had him say it slowly, write down and it was the same ten digits. He could not find his SS card so I had him sign everything and asked them to call me when they find it.

Anyone aware if there is any chance there is a ten digit SSN?

That is my understanding also. I had looked for the three digit Area number in his numbers but couldn't budge him on it not being correct. Alcoholic and he needed a drink. I submitted hers today and will send his ROP plan when he gets it to me. The wife is modivated and the referral was from a pretty reliable source.

That is how they found it.

Not sure where he came up with the number he gave me but it only had one three digit string that matched his ssn.

Nice couple, but I think they are losing the battle with alcohol.

Well... he was born in CA. So... you just never know!?

When he told you he was a male, how where you going to have him verify that?? Did you follow up with... "Are you SURE?"

Like I said... CA.
