Annoying Ad

Is anyone else seeing this? About every 3rd thread I click on, this ad pops up and covers the middle of the screen until I click it off. Must be a new sponsor. Haven't seen one do that before. Very annoying!

I agree.. Most annoying type ad the forum has used. I hate pop up type ads.. Having one when you first come to the site is one thing but having them on every third page or so is too much.

It's most likely rtb/ retarget advertising. The software that profiles and launches the ads needs to be set to certain parameters. Try clearing your cookies.

There is no retargeting. It is a large ad that is supposed to run one time per 24 hours, and not more than three times in a 30 day period, which I think is reasonable.

I have removed the posts teaching people how to block our ads. If someone wants to figure that out on their own and not help support the site that they participate in, I can't stop you, but I won't allow through posts actually teaching other people how to hurt my livelihood.

If by hurt your livelihood you're referring to my mentioning retargeting, and you have a negative association with that, I don't know what to say. The problem described fits that description.

Those parameters are not working. Earlier it reoccurred about 4 times in one login session for me

That was what prompted the original post, we messed that up. It should be working now. And Infuego, no, it was not directed to you at all.

Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience. We do take our users experience very personally and we have fewer ads that any other major insurance website.
