I'm not sure where this goes because I don't see a direct section for this but my father needs workers comp insurance. He asked if I carry it and I do not but I figured someone on here could take the business. PM me

No Offense, but you dont have some P&C agents in your area that you are friends with to get this from?

The only P&C agent I know works for State Farm. Not even sure if they offer it. I don't know much at all about WC. Must be ZERO money in it

Lots of money in big workers comp, very little money in small policies. Pretty much the same as anything else....

Some things about workers comp....
- It is very state specific. What state is your father in?
- It is based on the type of work the employee does. What line of work is your father in?
- Most P&C agents write at least some workers comp.
- Anyone who sells commercial insurance writes workers comp as well. They frequently go together.
- You should start with the agent who carries his liability insurance.

That said, workers comp coverage can be HARD to get sometimes, especially if you have been operating in a business that should have had it but didn't. There is usually a reason people suddenly 'look' for workers comp coverage.

Workers comp usually does not cover business owners and in most states (?) is not required for the business owner(s), just the employees.

People who contract businesses to do work don't always understand workers comp rules and MAY want certificates of insurance even if its not required. This can get to be a bit sticky.

He works by himself in swimming poor service. He normally wouldn't need workmans comp but his subdivision that he lives in and services their pool is making him have it.

I think they want him to have 1 million.

$1M is very normal for workers comp.
You'll have to find someone who can write the policy on the owner. It will be a bit of a challenge. Wish I could help, but you are in the wrong state for me.
