Thinking of going indy after some time at Pru and I'm wondering if carriers will appoint an independent broker who also works as a licensed mortgage broker/banker?

It would be a compliance / disclosure issue if you are a registered rep. Your best bet is to call the carriers and get the word direct from the horse's mouth.

Yes on the RR issue 6 & 63. Will get it straight from the horse...just curious if anyone had experience with the issue.

I am not a Registered Rep but I have my Mortgage Loan Originator license. I just sent in my NC life and health license application after passing the tests. I have worked in the insurance industry before but let my license go after going into the mortgage industry (big mistake, letting the license go, not going into the mortgage industry).

There shouldn't be any issues with doing both as long as full disclosure is made that one product is not required to purchase another from what I have been told, at least as far as state law goes.

Are there companies out there that would have an issue with doing both?
