Former client "lost" her Medigap a few months ago. Reapplied with that carrier and turned her down because she was taking lamotrigine (generic Lamictal).

Says she as been depressed for years. Now takes dextroamphetamine. Swears she isn't bipolar and stopped taking the medication AMA after a month.

I don't know anyone that will consider her but figured I would ask.

Have you tried Atlantic Coast Life or Lumico?

Lamical comes up as which is mostly used for epileptic seizures according to google but can be used for bipolar

don't seem based on google that it's known to be used for just depression

dextroamphetamine is basically like Adderall google shows mostly used for ADHD and narcolepsy And can be used for manic episodes with bipolar

I think you will have a tough time getting this one passed as not bipolar

Can't say with any certainty if she'd be approved, but UHC (AARP branded - I know, I know, you hate them) doesn't ask about Bipolar condition. I do recall having someone approved who sees a psychiatrist, but I don't recall what medications she takes. I know it wasn't Lamotrigine though.

WIth UHC if it's not on the APP they will not underwrite against it
