Brokers Alliance

Anyone heard of ECA Marketing?

Meh. I moved my annuity contracts from them. Caught my contact pushing Allainz to the exclusion of all else.

Life side is ok on back-end, but you better check what level commission they are bringing you in at. They like to pay WCL 20 year term at 80%. Ponied up to 90% when I threatened to walk. Cone to think of it, not so impressed with the sales liasons on the life side either.

I looked at the Brokers Alliance website and it appears they charge $800+ per month for their services. Is this standard practice for agents with them or has anyone signed on without such high fees? While the comp levels they post about seem good, I would be surprised if they were much higher than being at the national producer level (i.e. highest comp) with our current brokerage facility. Or does this only work out more to the advantage of an agent just getting into things who may not be at that comp level yet?

Where do you see the $800 at? I have used BA for 10 years and have never paid a penny for their services. They offer minimum street level on all life products and provide excellent service and back office support.

By "minimum" are you saying that most other GAs offer a better comp package... i.e. "maximum?"

If someone had the time to put together a matrix of some of the better-known GAs and their pay-outs for the better known carriers, it would be a real service to the agent community. If I can find some "code in a box" I'll do it when I find the time (assuming I would not get sued by the GAs listed on the chart!) Now that I think of it, one could keep a simple spreadsheet and print it out to a PDF (or maybe to HTML?) and update it once a month or so and (re) post it.

I'm not saying you should choose a GA solely on commission, but it should be a consideration in your decision.

I'm always amazed on the huge differences I've found in life commissions. For example take John Hancock. A local GA offers a much, much, much higher commission than the national GA I use.... with excellent service. It pays to shop GAs.

Outside of group health (in CA) the only product I've found where commission is the same among the GAs I've looked at is in disability insurance... 50%.

YMMV

Can you link to the specific page? I have run though the elite site a couple of times and can't find anything about a fee for this program.

Sorry, that was not clear. I meant that they offer no less that the street level commission direct from the carrier, sometimes more.
