Clients Emailing Jokes

How do you tell them nicely to remove you from their joke email list?

You could give them your "personal account" and ask that they send them there. The obvious other step of that is setting up an account for the spam, err, jokes.

i was going to do that, but my concern is he always emails me about his policy, so if he emails me to the wrong account i wont see it.

here's what I suggest: Email the client back... something like this....

"dear client/comedian wannabe,

Thanks for the jokes you send me. I get a kick out of them. However, due to some recent changes in the insurance business as far as the need to save insurance email communications for long periods of time, I really need to cut this email acct. down to business communications only. Continue to email me at this address for insurance questions. But please send the jokes to my other address yourjokessuck@yahoo.com. Thanks"

everyone has a "junk email" address. if not, it takes 2 minutes to create one. That might be an easy "out" for ya without hurting the client's feelings.

Unless he's sending you 5 a day or they're offensive, what's the real harm? Be thankful your client is even thinking about you to include you in the emails.

You might even reply to one every so often with a "Good one... keep 'em coming".

rba do you use gmail? his joke list is a listserv correct? i got a client who sends me his Christianity list serv newsletter, articles etc... it fills up my inbox all day and i get annoyed when i get a mail ping from my phone and its his spam.

It's all good hearted, but i need my email only for work, so in gmail i set up a filter that if it came from his listserv email or includes one of their cc's it auto goes to trash. You wont get them at all.

And when he emails you about the policy, im sure he will compose a new email, which you will get.
