Does anyone use Craigslist to find prospects for insurance leads? Wanted to see how the community can generate Internet leads by posting ads on Craigslist. If so, which sections are best to post. Let's share our findings here. Thank you, John

Tried it very aggressively couple years ago, in several categories, in several states as I do tele-sales. Nice ad complete with a toll-free number. ZERO results.

Why are you posting this in multiple threads? SPAM.

Whenever I post on Craigslist I get bot responses with girls naked photos attached.....How do you get a real response on Craigslist.

Actually for a short time I posted some ads for health insurance on Craigslist and got some responses less so for life...I like backpage a little better because I find it easier to post a clickable image that can take someone to a landing page.

There are some agents on this forum who have had minimal to moderate success on CL. I've noticed that they all have the following in common:

-They are all P&C agents (particularly those who sell auto and other toys... personal lines). L&H just isn't a good fit for CL, for whatever reason.

- None of them display their phone number or email in any of their ads. Nor do they post their email anonymously (because you will still get the spam in your inbox). The only path to reach them is a link that goes straight to their website quote page. This puts a stop to almost all the spam. Only people who are serious enough to take the time to fill out a quote form (or surf through your website) can get through.

- All ads are very specific (e.g. auto ins. ads in automotive services, motorcycle ins. in cycle services, boat ins. in marine services). General ads (e.g. XYZ Insurance agency) never work.

- They post their ads in every CL city they can sell in, not just the city closest to them.

One last thing: there's a huge difference sometimes from state to state. Some states are good for CL ads, some aren't.

Thanks for the info. I can see it being a good way to get your name and website out there. Glad to hear some people get some results off CL.

Welcome back Jack! So what about this stuff (below): (I assume you were kidding about the $30 million!)

If you are ever in the Cincinnati area feel free to give me a ring, I am the executive producer for a YouTube series targeting the insurance industry. Targeting a segment of the population that is more influenced by social media, versus traditional advertising.

We have had a few top-level managers in the insurance industry want to make investments in our show, because they see the potential of what we are targeting. ( it's a lead generation distribution channel we are creating.)

Just for the record we are not seeking investors, I funded the entire project. However we may be interested in the sale of the distribution channel. (We believe it's worth more than 30 Mil because of the potential and lead generation via the distribution channel, we are developing. only an insurance company has those types of pockets.)

However we would be willing to pay a finders fee if you have the connections to help us sell our distribution channel.

If you made the connection for us and we sold our channel for our asking price I would be willing to pay a $600,000 one time fee. You can contact me directly at my office number of 513-662-7000.

My employees screen my calls. You will not make it past the gatekeepersunless you tell them it's about my YouTube series, they will then connect youto me.
