When you delete a thread you also delete all the posts within that thread. Thus, all the posters loose their post counts. To some that matters, to others it doesn't. However, no one will admit that it does. If you said something your boss would be upset about (assuming it's about him) then why are you now chummy enough to show him this site (assuming he doesn't know about it already)?

The best thing to do is to chance your postings so that you won't get spanked (but not to say "delete this tread"), then create a new account and behave afterwards.

Just go back and edit your posts. You should be able to do that.

Also, another way to get threads deleted is by throwing some personal attacks out there or mentioning PayPal...
