Why can't we just go back to the editing capability we had before.

Just went to edit a post that I just made and can't do it. I think when posts merge that they become one so your ten minutes to edit is already gone the minute you post it. The clock starts at the end of the first post.

Anyway, how have these editing changes improved things? What problem has it solved that is worth the downside.

I agree with you. It is an option on the forum that the admin or mods can change.

I wish they would change it back to being able to edit post or delete your post.

or you can READ your post before posting.....

I try to proof read things but sometimes my brain only sees what it wants to see and I don't see the issue until afterward. I have also posted a few things where I have reconsidered what I have written or found myself to be incorrect where I want to go back and obliterate what I have written.

What if I post something like "Texas Insurance Agents are ALL Gay" and then 2 hours later remember that Peeler is the one exception?

Perhaps I'd like to edit my quote but now I can't. So this might be a big problem unless you are not Peeler and therefore are a gay Texas insurance agent.

Excellent point. Or you could run into the opposite problem where someone might say that all gay insurance agents are in Texas but you might want to edit it later to include Al in California.

All sorts of scenarios.
