FEX UW Question

Assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Would any FEX carrier touch a 66yo Male who has been prescribed a low dose of morphine and 7.5mg percocets for 6yrs & Type 2 diabetes w/ insulin... Level, graded or Modified? Or is this strictly going to be GI?

Thanks in Advance!

So pain meds and insulin diabetes? Have you tried him with Oxford, Trinity or Foresters? RNA? Who has declined him so far?

Here is the million dollar advice that your Upline should be teaching you. Pull your favorite FE company’s application out. Ask each question exactly as written. If the applicant can honestly answer “no” to each question, write the application.

if they have to answer “yes” to a question, like insulin diabetes when trying to qualify for TransAm preferred for instance, pull out the underwriting cheat sheets that your Upline provides you with and look up that health condition to see if any other company rates it more favorably. If so, repeat step one with the other company’s application.

If your FE Upline does not provide accurate cheat sheets or underwriting tools then you definitely should look at the tool described in the thread: https://insurance-forums.com/community/threads/underwriting-tool-free-to-try-out.100900/

Protective Life is who declined off paramed/rx search.. Prudential was only FU carrier that would consider (at Table F). Will definitely take a look at Oxford & Trinity apps. Thanks!
Ps. Forgot to mention he's also on Disability

Disability won't be a problem. Go straight to Trinity. Oxford will decline just based on the fact that others have declined him first. They are one of the few FE companies that does that. But they want to be 1st choice only.

Suggestion - search out some SIWL and SITerm options. Many of these are going to have 4-8 tables built in. When you get declines or higher OTA offers you want to be prepared to pivot quickly. The problem with a lot of SIWL/FE products is the very low maximum of $25,000 or $35,000. Having a couple higher face options like United Home that also has SITerm make it easier to stack for face amount.
