Have you noticed any tightening up on their underwriting as of late?

They are doing less POS decisions for prospects with multiple meds, doing follow-up phone interviews with prospects to discuss their meds in detail, and faxing docs for supplementary information.

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

Are you using the Enhanced POS Interview, or the regular one?

I was told by Settlers that if the client is on 10 medications or more they will not be able to give an answer to an Enhanced POS interview.

They have NEVER given me a decision at the end of the enhanced interview. It's always something. And almost half of them they have done a follow up call and some they have done an APS. Most have approved after all of that but I had declined recently after the interview and an APS. Put him with RNA and it sailed through.

Maybe it's a handwriting thing? No wait, that's me! You have perfect handwriting.

I had a case in November that I called for an enhanced interview, which was not available, so we did a regular interview which they told me would need to be submitted to underwriting.

This was for a Silver plan, so we knew there were issues, but she seemed to qualify.

Two days later Settlers wants to do a second interview. I was in the area on appointments, so I stop at the home, and get the applicant back on for a second PHI. It ends with the Settlers person saying they had all the info they needed and would make a decision "an a few days".

Then a couple of days later they call the client for a THIRD PHI.

With that my client disappeared, and her parents canceled the M of O policies they purchased. Between the three policies I wrote it was $1192 ap.

Of Settlers would have issued a simple decline, we would have put her on Am Con graded and the family would have been covered.

Not much of a Settlers fan.

Come to think of it, I have had similar expierence. I was told about the ten meds and later got turned down.
