For Those Who Write Settlers

Come to think of it, I have had similar expierence. I was told about the ten meds and later got turned down.

They have not given me an answer even when no med were involved. One was on an 8 year old girl with her dad doing the interview.

Due to a "glitch in our system we cannot give an answer at this time. Please send in the application for further underwriting".

It did finally get issued about 7 weeks later.

Settlers is one of a handful of companies that won't do replacements here in Ky. They all have more than that in common.

Settlers, Lincoln Heritage, AmAm, Shenandoah and 5 Star. That's the companies that won't allow replacement business in Ky.

I don't know about SL but I would bet they don't either. They fit right in with that group above.

There are pluses and minuses to Settlers. They dig way deeper than most FE companies before approving. They do look for ways to approve the case but take their sweet time and sometimes still disappoint. I don't put anyone with a whole shoebox full of meds with Settlers.

But the flip side is they hardly ever fail to pay the claim on a contestable death. Most FE companies can't match that.

So it's rougher on us agents to do our job. But if our own family member died a year info an FE policy, I don't think there is any FE company I would feel better about than Settlers.
