Free Rx Card-is It Worth It when on Part D?

I wish somone would come up with a Free Dental and Vision discount card.

Free is worth exactly what you pay for it.

Mega used to offer a lot of free stuff when you bought their crap plans.

I tried using one when I hit the donut hole last year, and was told that my scrpt would be cheaper without it.

Yes, it is worth it when on Part D. Part D participants have a deductible to meet and then the doughnut hole. The user has the pharmacist enter the code into their record. For each drug they get, the pharmacist will compare the prices. If the card offers a better price, they'll use that. Many agents think of the drug card as a marketing tool. Give something of value to your clients and prospects at no cost to them, that also has the agent's contact info on it. If the agents makes some money on the Rx's filled it can cover the cost or even make a profit. We have agents that got aggressive and are making a good steady cash flow.

Discount Cards are great if the consumer doesn't have a plan that would provide better pricing or savings for the consumer.

The cards are free and in many cases will save someone money.

Those that have insurance - if the discount pricing is better than the co-pay or co-insurance price, then by all means use it. Especially if it's for a senior, since the actual cost doesn't get applied to the annual prescription limits.

I commented about our program on the other thread:
