Getting the Jump on a Netquote Lead

Hello:

I have received my first Netquote lead.

Question: Which method do you find most effective to get to the prospect "first"?

Call and set an appointment to go over the options.

or

Call and tell them you will email them a quote for advanced preview?
I am hesitant to wait until the appointment is set because that gives other agents time to get in there.

However, I am even more hesitant to email a quote, since the prospect may not understand what they are looking at?

What works best for YOU?

(Serious replies only. I don't want to get into a debate about how Netquotes and other lead companies suck. Thanks!)

call it as soon as you get it ......ask them if you are the first one to call about their life insurance request.....you might be surprised....email the rates and your recommendations with an application ....tell them to fax it back or scan and email back.............

I bet up to 8 different agents is getting the lead at the same time.

NetQuote is one of the lead companies that offers you points on facebook games if you allow agents to call you and give you a quote.

If you call when you receive the lead, you will be right after me. My system actually calls based on an xml post from the lead provider, which almost always occurs a few minutes before the email arrives.

Yes, I can be talking to someone before I have the email to know what I'm talking to them about :) Fortunately, they are loaded into my crm system already.

Don't worry though, I don't work many internet leads, only a very narrow niche market.

The answer is:

Call them asap! Feel them out. Ask them some underwriting questions and what meds are they taking. Ask them would they like you to come out and help them or wait to see if they say they only want a quote.

Since it is shared leads, you want to be the 1st one to call them and be the cheapest when you do call them.

and tell them you work for them and not any one insurance company....your job is to get them the best rate for their health situation .......
