Google business listing

To those of you who have a google business page, how effective has it been? What I mean is have you received business from it, if you did were you advertising? Also how important have reviews been to your business listing? Thanks

It's definitely worth it. I had it for about two years and I was getting about a call a week from it.
Unfortunately, about a month or two ago I got suspended. They don't tell you why and when I disputed it, it was rejected.
I send out a monthly newsletter to my clients and it was suspended around that time in March, so maybe it was that.

But, it's free and takes 5 minutes to set it up. Do it.

Were you paying for advertising at the time they suspended you? And if you were paying for advertising how much in total over the years had you put into it? I really do appreciate it.

Those are two different things, I believe. A google biz page is completely free. I'm not trying to compete with insurance companies to be at the top of a page search.
I just want to be a local guy for someone who searches Medicare agent near me.

How do you do it? Process that is. thanks

It would be worth seeing how other agents who come up on the first page (over half the people don't look past page one and only rarely does anyone look past page 3 with a google search) word their website, what key words they use, what do they have first on the page, etc. That can help optimize you in the AI search function to come up after the paid ads.

It's been a couple of years but I remember it was easy. This is from a google search

To create a Google Business Profile, you'll first need a Google account. Then, go to google.com/business and follow the on-screen instructions. You'll need to provide information about your business, including its name, address, and category.

A Google Local lisiting is super easy to do. Add 100% of the information that you possibly can. It is totally worth it. But - Don't fall into the trap of just throwing information on it. Spend time on it and do it right.

Make sure you follow one golden rule:
Exact Name and Address Match across all of your info sites: Yelp, Nextdoor, Google, Etc.
[Dont make one Johns Insurance Services and another John's Insurance Services and dont list one as PO Box 111 and the other as P.O. Box 111]

Complete all the fields thoroughly: Yes you can probably start one in 15 minutes or less, but dont. The advertising is worth $10,000 or so - but they charge nothing for it. Spend the amount of time you would on something that you would spend $10,000 on.

Stay Engaged with it. Add closures for holidays, Add a Short Post Now and Again, Put a photo on there, and get some reviews out there. [5Star of course.] Add services every six months.

Google Local might just be free advertising that a local business can find today.
